FAQ

We’ve got answers.
The Ovation is set to open its doors in fall 2026. The specific date of our first show will hinge on our ongoing construction timeline.
The Ovation will be located at the corner of S. Washington Ave. and W. Lenawee St. in Downtown Lansing. This is currently the empty parking lot on the southwest corner of this intersection. The project will involve the rehabilitation of the vacant building at 520 S. Washington, and add new construction to the north all the way to the corner.
The Ovation will be a two-story main building with a third-floor rooftop terrace and lounge. Explore our floor plans, features, and amenities to learn more.
The Ovation will host up to 2,025 standing patrons for a single show. This includes the main floor, as well as the second-story balcony wrapping around, with a view of the main stage. Check out our floor plans to learn more.
One of the best things about the Ovation is its versatility, opening the door to a wide variety of shows. Our two-story main stage will host everything from large-scale, national concerts to local shows across all genres. Our additional black box performance area will welcome more intimate performances, like acoustic sets or comedy shows.
Yes — with an “elevated” concession stand and seven bars across three floors (including a rooftop terrace), we’ve got you covered.
At the Ovation, we believe enjoying the arts doesn’t stop after the encore. During the day, the space will serve as a hub for creativity, education, and innovation for community members of all ages as the home of the Lansing Public Media Center. Through the Lansing Public Media Center’s facilities, the Ovation will offer shared community spaces and creative resources such as multi-purpose collaboration rooms, a podcast recording studio, and creator suites for community groups like schools and nonprofits. Private party rooms and conference rooms will also be available for event rentals.
We’re glad you asked! As a venue by the people, for the people, the Ovation will rely on community support to take it to the next level. We invite individuals to become Founding Supporters of the Ovation. We’ll hook you up with some neat swag and list your name on our website, as well as on digital displays at the venue. To make an even bigger mark on the space, there are naming rights opportunities available for partners and organizations as well.
