In the digital realm, there are few things more exciting than a good Reddit AMA. Nothing beats settling in with a warm beverage and an engaging Reddit thread for lively conversation, informative details, and entertaining quips.
Last month, the Ovation’s founding director, Dominic Cochran, hosted a Reddit AMA in r/lansing to ask any questions community members may have about the venue and get their perspectives.
If you’re not familiar, an AMA (or, Ask Me Anything) is a Q&A feature where a person (usually a public figure or subject matter expert) answers questions submitted by Reddit users. This creates an open forum for FAQs where anyone can ask burning questions they’ve been wanting to know about the subject at hand. Picture an online interview, where the audience is all of Reddit.
In short, the Lansing Reddit community stepped up! From construction details, to market demand, to the types of artists we can expect to see at the Ovation, our community had a wealth of quality questions. We were ecstatic to see more than 100 comments and questions, and Dominic was even more ecstatic to provide answers for all of them that you can still check out here.
Community activation is one of our core values at the Ovation. As a venue by the people, for the people, we believe it's important to keep our neighbors in the loop throughout our journey, from construction to opening night. We’re so proud of our community for getting so involved in this process, and we will use many of your ideas from the AMA throughout the development process.
I’m the founding director of the Ovation, a new concert venue coming to Downtown Lansing. AMA.
